🚀 Oracle APEX Change Management System
Master of Science in Information Technology — Capstone Project
I’m pleased to share my capstone project, the Oracle APEX Change Management System. The project focuses on designing and developing a database-driven application that supports a structured software change management process. In software development and IT operations, changes must be properly documented, reviewed, approved, tested, and deployed to help maintain system stability, accountability, and control.
🔹 Project Overview
The system provides a structured workflow for managing software change requests, from initial submission through review, approval, testing, deployment, and rollback. It also maintains change history and audit records to support traceability and accountability.
Developing this project allowed me to apply practical skills in database application development, PL/SQL programming, workflow implementation, validation, and role-based authorization.
🔹 Project Evidence
🔹 Key Features
- Change Request Management: Supports the creation and submission of change requests with relevant descriptions, reasons, and supporting information.
- Review & Approval Workflow: Implements a controlled approval workflow ensuring changes follow the required authorization process without self-approval.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Restricts actions according to responsibilities (Requester, Reviewer, Approver, Deployment Admin).
- Testing and Deployment: Includes application workflows for recording testing information and managing deployment activities.
- Audit and Change History: Maintains records that help track change-related activities and support accountability.
🔹 Technologies Used
🔹 Technical Learning
Developing this project allowed me to apply practical skills in database application development, PL/SQL programming, and role-based authorization. I also implemented repeatable PL/SQL tests to check selected business rules and workflow behavior, including input validation, access restrictions, and approval-related processes.
