Situation
When installing Oracle 11g release 2 (32 bit) software on Windows or RHEL5.2 at step:
"Copy files.... In progress" extracting '/opt/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/oc4j_applications/applications/em.ear'
It raises the following error:
file not found /opt/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/oc4j/j2ee/oc4j_applications/applications/em.ear
Pushing "Retry" gets same error.
Pushing "Continue" and it goes forward.
Solution
This error occurs because the Oracle installation comes in two separate files. The instuctions indicate that these should be unzipped into the same folder.
For Oracle 11.2.0.1:
When you extract download for Oracle 11g R2, you'll get it asOracle_11.2.0.1.0_Server_Win32_1of2.zip and Oracle_11.2.0.1.0_Server_Win32_2of2.
When you decompress the zip files, copy the contents of database/stage/Components of 2of2 into the database/stage/Components of 1of2.
Start installation of Oracle software once again.
